Sixteen-year-old Lane thinks his world is crumbling -- he's been jilted by his girlfriend for someone more popular and things at home with his wacky family aren't much better. His half-hearted attempt at suicide catches the eye of Monique, a foreign-exchange student, who is determined to cure Lane of his suicidal tendencies and win his heart too.
