Description
Sam Morgan, a member of Jedediah Smith's trapping brigade, is forced to abandon his infant daughter when his beloved Indian wife dies in childbirth. After traveling to Santa Fe with the brigade, Sam returns to California to reclaim his daughter and take her to his wife's village on the Wind River in Wyoming. When he gets to California, however, he learns that his daughter has been taken captive in an Indian raid. He eventually rescues his daughter and the two embark on a harrowing journey back to Santa Fe.
