Description
Lucia Sartori is the determined 25-year-old daughter of a traditional Italian family in Greenwich Village in the 1950's, apprenticed as a seamstress at the upscale B. Altman department store. Engaged to Dante DeMartino, she breaks off the arrangement when she discovers that the DeMartinos expect her to quit work and stay home to be a housewife and mother. Soon after, she is swept away by the handsome John Talbot--only to be caught up in the midst of a society scandal that forces Lucia to strike off on her own.
